dmg events purchase Exhibition Management Services (Pty) Ltd South Africa. One of the largest and leading event organsiers, dmg events have announced that they have now acquired Exhibition Management Services who are based out of Johannesburg, South Africa.
The pan African event company arrange five leading events in the region, these include:
Africa’s Big Seven (AB7) – The largest food and beverage industry trade expo for Africa
WAMPEX – Mining, Power, Machinery and Technology – Ghana
SAITEX – Non Food retail exhibition
CIS – Oil and gas, marine, logistics, offshore, event which also brings together small business suppliers showcased in Cape Town.
INDUTEC – Industrial Design and Manufacturing focused exhibition
Chief Executive Officer of dmg events, Geoff Dickinson, stated. “This acquisition is part of our strategy to become key event players in Africa. EMS offers a strategic hub in Africa’s largest economy.”
In addition to dmg’s previous 7 large scale events they now operate 12 in total across the continent. The sectors they cover include: interiors, oil and gas and investment. The company will now change their name to dmg EMS Africa and report to dmg events Middle East, Asia and Africa divisions.
President of dmg events MEAA, Matt Denton, said that, “The team and I are excited about the events and opportunities that this acquisition opens to us in Africa. WE can build significantly on the existing successful EMS events and already have plans to grow the business with fresh launches supported from our new Johannesburg hub.”
The owner and founder of EMS, John Thomson added, “dmg events with its extensive portfolio of events, international networks and financial resources is the ideal organisation to further develop and expand upon the portfolio of exhibitions that we have established over 35 years in Africa.”
