The popular gaming festival Insomnia Gaming will be relocated from the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to the NEC in Birmingham. The move has been due to an increase in numbers and outgrowing the current venue
The event which was recently acquired by the leading games retailer – GAME Digital PLC has decided to hold it at the new venue until at least 2018. It is hoped that the event will attract in the region of 25,000 attendees over the full four days of the show. The event will cover all aspects of gaming, this include Linked Area Network gaming rooms and e-sports tournaments alongside the main expo.
BD manager for the NEC Exhibitions, David Gallagher said that: “Insomnia is already a unique event because, like a festival, it combines so many different elements. We wanted to enhance the festival-feel and keeping our halls open throughout the night does just that. It will also add an extra element to the show that visitors to the Ricoh don’t currently get to experience.”
