High-Tech Events Targeted By Macau Hotels
The former Portuguese colony of Macau has in recent years vied to become a hub for events in the Asia region. Buoyed by growth from gambling at the plethora of casinos the local government have over the last 5 years made a real push in to growing their corporate event and MICE sector.
Two of the larger hotels on the Cotai Strip, Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel and The St Regis Macao, both owned by Sheraton are now trying tech based initiatives for business event planners and guests.
For event planners they’ve launched a secure digital meeting planning tool called the eVent Portfolio. This helps streamline the planning process and puts more control in the meeting planners hands. All documents and correspondence are placed in a centralise way on the web based app for ease of use for the planner. Users can plan events and connect with relevant parties by texting through the app. All of this is provided for free.
General Manager of sales & marketing, Daniella Tonetto said that, “eVent Portfolio is Starwood Hotels and Resort’s game-changing, web-based tool that makes planning an event faster, easier and more efficient, and offers an organised, systematic and detailed approach to putting together and managing any medium- to large-scale event. It features a special sustainability tab that lets planners track how much paper, energy and waste they are reducing during their meetings. It will kick off a new era of mobile event planning, one that centres around going green,”
