Host Your Event in Malaysia? New Incentives Launched to Help. Malaysia has long been seen as being behind Singapore in the event stakes in S.E. Asia with small nation consistently beating Kuala Lumpur to host large scale international events. Well things might be about to change.
The Malaysia Conventions and Exhibition Bureau (MyCeb) and Malaysia Airlines have announced a strategic partnership to attract more international events to the country.
A one year agreement has been struck up which will see the two partner on major event bids and marketing efforts at industry trade shows in order to hit the national target of 36 million tourist arrivals by 2020.
General Manager of MyCeb Ho Yoke Ping said in relation to the agreement that, “Event planners can take advantage of special fares offered by MAB and One World alliance partners for events hosted in Malaysia. This also includes travel within the country for pre and post-conference tours. MAB will offer special services at the airport and value-adds for large conferences, corporate and incentive groups.
“We will connect the event planners to MAB if they are planning the events in Malaysia. We will also work with MAB as part of our bidding strategy by offering a special rate for delegates attending the conferences and hosted buyers at trade exhibitions.”
