Wynn Palace Resort Opens in Macau

This week saw the opening of the highly anticipated Wynn Palace in Macau. The huge new resort opened in the centre of the Cotai Strip in Macau.

Macau has seen a downturn in its fortunes over the last couple of years thanks to more casino resorts opening in Asia and a clampdown on graft across China affecting visitor numbers

It’s hoped the new resport will bring in further international tourists, gamblers and of course business events to the former Portuguese colony. The resort features over 1,700 rooms, villas and suites and it has the largest spa in Macau and just under 20,000sqm of shopping.

Steve Wynn CEO and Chairman was in Macau to open up the resort. He stated that, “Wynn Palace is arguably the most beautiful hotel in the world, which is a wonderful thing to be able to say. But it is not in London, Paris, New York or Rome. It is in Cotai, in Macau, and sits here for all the world to come and see. In any hospitality business there are only two words that matter—guest experience. All the rest is irrelevant, and all of the marble and crystal chandeliers, and all of the wonderful good taste that has been put into this building is dedicated to that one thing—guest experience.”
