Oktoberfest London Cancelled on Opening Day
The OktoberFest London 2015 event was cancelled a mere 20 minutes before the opening of the first session at midday on the 9th October
The event was to be held in London at the Tobacco Dock in Canary Wharf and was to run until 11th October. More than 24,000 people were expected to attend the event over the three days.
The event website was altered on the day of the event to simply read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances the OktoberFest London event has been cancelled. The ticket holders are requested to keep hold of their tickets for the event, and the company will inform all ticket holders of the procedure for claiming a refund as soon as possible.”
Since the date of cancellation the official reason for pulling the plug at the last minute has been down to an “operational issue” The full statement from the
“We regret that the Oktoberfest London Events planned this weekend to take place at Tobacco Dock in Wapping have been cancelled. We identified certain operational issues at last night’s opening event that were considered sufficiently serious that it has been decided not to proceed with the planned sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All guests are advised to await updates via the organiser’s website www.oktoberfest.london, regarding the status of their tickets.”
