Sydney ICC venue almost ready!
Sydney’s overhaul of the International Conference Centre (ICC) is almost complete. The lack of a dedicated exhibition and conference centre has turned away event organisers for the past 18 months. Now however, the end is in sight
Last week marked the topping off of the highest point in the new ICC. An event was held to mark this milestone with Mike Baird the NSW Premier and Minister for Transport and infrastructure in attendance
The venue is hoped to officially open in Q4 2016. The ICC is part of a tri of connected buildings which will form the only fully integrated convention, expo and entertainment complex. With the official opening slated for December 2016.
Discussing the progress of, Minister Baird said: “This major infrastructure project is moving at a cracking pace and is another example of how the NSW Government is building tomorrow’s Sydney. By the end of the year, we’ll have a state-of-the-art convention centre that truly befits a global city and one that cements Sydney as the number one place to do business.”
The brand new convention centre have claimed to have already secured over 20 international events, according to BESydney’s Lewis-Smith. This should hopefully provide approximately 200,000 delegates.
